Late night, date night!

Things on the island of Oahu have been blissfully busy. This statement may seem like an oxymoron, but when your days consist of early morning workouts alongside the beach, long shifts at work (at some of the coolest places on the island), biking around town, or going on new adventures, there is not much to complain about. Tori & I have been working a ton as of late, not having a full day off in a couple of weeks. We are both absolutely enjoying our jobs and actually enjoy the crazy business, but we realized we have taken little time to actually breathe and fully enjoy one another's presence. We decided it was time to treat ourselves and take each other out on a romantic date night in Waikiki. When we first arrived on the island, one of our missions was to find the perfect pina colada. In this search, we came across an absolutely idyllic restaurant on the water that serves delicious cocktails and has the perfect Hawaiian ambiance and experience. We added it to our bucket list, and we were ecstatic to be able to finally try it out and check it off! So, we finally let our hair down (a rare occurrence), put on some heels, and made ourselves into classy ladies! When we went to get the car keys from our host family, our "little sister" Kate (age 6) was pretty impressed with how tall we had suddenly become! We snapped a quick picture with her--and come on! She can't get much more precious.

Our host mom took some pictures of us in front of the house before we were off. Definitely something our own mommas would do if we were back on the mainland!

When we got to the restaurant, we were absolutely blown away. It was nestled inside this beautifully ornate hotel located on the water. When we reached the restaurant we saw a live band playing some beautiful Hawaiian music as the sun was setting in the background. Later on in the night, a hula dancer came out and did a beautiful performance.

You could say we were more than a little excited, trying to take it all in!

We, of course, wandered around and took some pictures (which do not do it justice at all).

Once we finally sat down at our table, we decided on some wine to start the evening off (it was a white wine kind of night).

As the sun set, the view just got more and more incredible.

Not only was the view incredible, but the food was absolutely the most delicious. With our new Paleo diet (cavemen, where you at?!), we decided on a vegetable medley and the coconut shrimp served with orange mango sauce that was absolutely to die for.

The rest of the night consisted of indulging in this delicious meal and having the most beautiful and uplifting conversation. We shared our life stories with one another, something we realized we had failed to do earlier. It was such a sweet time of getting to know each other better and more fully, and praising God for all the work He has done in both of our lives. It was so cool to see how our lives intertwined with one another, and how purposeful the Lord was in leading us to Hawaii together.
